New Works '09: Winter/Spring

1:00 am. Almost out of gas. When out on the horizon a beaming, beacon of hope. The gas station. The bane of our existence, yet when you're out of gas, in the middle of nowhere, this is a heavenly sight. The dark sky above is oppresive and gives this piece a lonely feel.




I've been working on paintings of the places I've visited, both here and abroad. It doesn't take much to inspire me to paint. Sometimes the most mundane can be the most profound.




The above painting was done with a flat brush, the below piece was done with a round brush.
















I wanted to do a piece that was a metaphor for the way things are today. I feel this was a perfect representation of the way America feels right now.
