Humboldt county offers some of the most scenic landscapes. It's a land of rugged beauty and independent minds.
Working at night enables me to see the things I see during the day with a completely new point of view. Without the daylight, average things can become eerie, mysterious and tinged with fear.
Most of my work is done using traditional mediums, but I still enjoy taking photographs and making videos. There's an immediacy to photographs that appeal to the lazy part of me. Plus I can't really paint in the rain, but I can take photos.
Few places on earth rival the majestic beauty offered by Yosemite National Park. Located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and home to some of the purest waters in the US, Yosemite has inspired artists for generations.
This gallery showcases some of the photos and recaps my thoughts and perspective on my first real exploration of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
I enjoy working in this format because it helps me view the world from a larger perspective and keeps my mind from trying to frame things in a contrived format.
